National Statistical Service of the Republic of Armenia announces that in the first half of this year the foreign investments in Armenia’s economy are less by 40 %, compared with the same period of the last year.
“Haykakan Jamanak” writes that this year foreign investments comprise only 266 million dollars, which is the lowest rate according to the last 6 years data.
The investments coming from Russia have reduced by 80 %, from France by 65%, from US 78 %, and from UK by 61 %.
The following countries were especially mentioned as they make the main investments.
This year the 72 % of the investments have been used only in the following spheres: mining industry, real estate market and in telecommunication.
As a result, the other branches of the Economy are “hungry”.
This situation, concerning the foreign investments, shows that our economic attractiveness lowers day by day.
