President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan received a delegation led by Christos Harpantidis, Director of Corporate Relations (Deputy General Director) of Philip Morris International.
The President welcomed the guests and thanked them for their visit to Armenia and for participating in the “Yerevan Dialogue 2026” conference. In his speech, Vahagn Khachaturyan emphasized the importance of the long-term, effective cooperation established with the company, noting that it spans the spheres of economy, education, and science.
At the same time, the President emphasized that the development of education and science, modern technologies, and the field of artificial intelligence are priorities for Armenia. According to the President, these areas have received additional impetus and opportunities for unhindered development in light of the new realities created by the document signed on August 8, 2025, and the opportunities opened up for Armenia and the region. He expressed hope that the existing partnership will continue to expand, contributing to the implementation of new initiatives in Armenia.
Christos Harpantidis thanked for the reception, noting that he was happy to visit Armenia for the first time and participate in the “Yerevan Dialogue 2026” conference. He highly appreciated the current level of cooperation with Armenia and expressed his willingness to develop it further.
During the meeting, we discussed the company’s research activities, with a center’s activities, with special focus on the importance of developing education and science, and on the effectiveness of the cooperation established in the engineering city.
The parties discussed opportunities to implement joint programs and initiatives between Philip Morris International and the Armenian state bodies.
The parties also attached importance to the implementation of humanitarian and public interest programs, emphasizing their role in promoting social responsibility. At the end of the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their readiness to take steps to expand and deepen cooperation.
