The Azerbaijani APA news agency reports that Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev, during a session of the intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Russia, touched upon the transit to Armenia.
“As you know, at the initiative of the Azerbaijani President and as a manifestation of goodwill, restrictions on the transportation of goods in various directions, including from Russia to Armenia, through the territory of Azerbaijan have been lifted,” he noted.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister, this step contributes to strengthening trust in the region, developing ties, expanding economic cooperation, and deepening cooperation in the transport and logistics sectors.
Shahin Mustafayev emphasized that currently, about 26,000 tons of cargo have been delivered to the Republic of Armenia from the Russian Federation through the territory of Azerbaijan. According to him, the main cargo transported was wheat and fertilizer.
