“Liberty” writes: “The European Union is considering providing Armenia with another 10 million euros in non-aggressive assistance from the European Peace Facility, which aims to support the defense of allies. As reported by “Liberty” sources in Brussels, the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, has submitted a proposal to the EU Council, which is to discuss it in the coming weeks. The exact date of the discussion, however, is not yet precise.
The proposal will enter into force if all 27 Union member states approve it. Last year, for example, Hungary blocked the provision of this assistance, demanding that Azerbaijan be included in the program. After weeks of closed-door negotiations, European diplomats overcame Budapest’s resistance at that time.
What position Budapest and other member states now have on this issue is not clear.”
