The Ministry of the Interior of Finland proposes to allocate 74 million euros for the rapid construction of a fence on the border with Russia, as stated in the department’s press release.
In total, the Finnish Ministry of the Interior proposes to allocate an additional 86 million euros to the border guards because “the measures to strengthen border control, which were adopted after the closure of the border checkpoints and the concentration of applications for the granting of international protection, have caused additional costs for the border guard service and continue to do so.”
