During an interview with journalists, Gevorg Papoyan, the newly appointed Minister of Economy, stated that diversification of the economy is not simply replacing one trading partner with another, but rather having multiple large and small trading partners.
“My team and I will constantly and daily work to find new ways to develop Armenia’s economy. We should increase our trade turnover in all directions,” said Papoyan.
On whether there are negotiations with other countries at the moment, Papoyan stated that there have always been and will be negotiations with other countries. The minister cited the prime minister’s visit to Egypt as an example, noting that the visit had a significant economic component.
