To ensure safe commercial shipping in the Red Sea, the European Union will launch a military operation against the Yemeni Houthis.
The EU foreign ministers adopted the decision. Writes Bild. In particular, Germany has already sent the frigate “Hessen” to the coast of Yemen, where there are about 250 soldiers of the Bundeswehr.
It should be noted that the Houthis of Yemen supported the militants of that movement after the start of Israel’s military operation against Hamas. It is reported that since November 2023, the Houthi rebels, with the support of Iran, have begun to attack ships passing through the Red Sea. At first, only ships related to Israel were attacked, but later, boats from other countries, including American ships, were also targeted.
Remember that the route through the Suez Canal and the Red Sea is the shortest route between Europe and Asia.
