On September 25, RA NA Speaker Alen Simonyan received Vasilis Maragos, Head of the European Union Delegation to the Republic of Armenia. Congratulating the guest on assuming the position of the head of the mission of the European Union, the speaker of the RA NA expressed his belief in practical cooperation with joint efforts. Azerbaijan’s aggression against Nagorno-Karabakh and mass crime were condemned at the meeting. “It is a tough situation for the region, but it is tough for Armenia and the Armenian people,” stressed the head of the European Union delegation in the Republic of Armenia.
Alen Simonyan highly appreciated the addressed evaluations and appeals of the EU leadership regarding Azerbaijan’s new aggression, considering the role of the European Union as key to establishing stability and security in the region. He thanked the Nagorno-Karabakh Armenians for providing financial support for humanitarian aid.
The need to apply international sanctions against Azerbaijan was emphasized at the meeting.
