Samantha Power, the head of the US International Development Agency, and Yuri Kim, the US Assistant Secretary of State, will arrive in Armenia today.
“Power will meet with senior Armenian government officials and reaffirm US support for Armenia’s democracy, sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity, as well as its commitment to addressing the humanitarian needs arising from the Nagorno-Karabakh situation,” the US official said.
“Reuters” agency reported that Power will be the first head of USAID to visit Armenia and reaffirm the US partnership with the country, expressing deep concern for the ethnic Armenian population of Nagorno-Karabakh and discussing ways to resolve the humanitarian crisis.
