The United States supports direct dialogue between Azerbaijan and Armenia, regardless of where the negotiations occur. This was stated by the Deputy Spokesperson of the US State Department, Vendant Patel, during today’s briefing, referring to the meeting between the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, and the Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, to be held in Moscow on May 25.
“We welcome information that the parties intend to continue negotiations. We are convinced that peace is near and that direct dialogue is the key to solving these problems. “Face-to-face negotiations between the parties are important, and we are happy to have them, whether in Arlington, Brussels, or Moscow,” Patel said.
