RA Embassy in Italy announces that Emanuele Pozzolo, member of the Italian Chamber of Deputies and representative of the “Brothers of Italy” party, referred to the Armenian Genocide.
“On April 24, Armenians remember the massive genocide carried out by the Turks in 1915-1919. today we must not forget the one-and-a-half million murdered Christian Armenians, and it is essential to condemn without hesitation those who still deny the atrocities.
Armenia is inseparably connected with our common deep Christian roots. For this reason, as in the past and present, it has been subjected to persecution, in which the silence of many makes them morally complicit.
Armenians are also defined as “the people of Ararat.” Noah’s ark rested on Mount Ararat after the flood. On September 14, 2000, during the meeting with the pilgrims of the Armenian Catholic Patriarchate, Pope John Paul II described Armenians as follows:
The Armenian people know the Cross well. He carries it engraved in his heart. The cross symbolizes the identity of Armenians, the tragedies of history, and the glory of rebirth after every adverse event.”
