“The plan to Ukrainize us, the plan to turn the country into a second battlefield, of course, has failed again with our enemies,” Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Gharibashvili said.
The government of Georgia has been saying for several months that there is a plan to involve the country in a war with Russia so that the country becomes a second front. The Georgian authorities accuse the Ukrainian, the Georgian radical opposition, and “some forces of the West” of trying to implement this plan.
The USA and the EU have repeatedly stated that they have never pursued such a goal. Kyiv has also often said that it does not want war in Georgia. The opposition of Georgia, for its part, claims that the authorities use the message about the “second front” to scare the population and maintain power. It draws attention to the fact that the Georgian government tries not to criticize Russia in its speeches on the war.
