In two years, approximately 17000 women in the provinces of Lori, Tavush and Syunik underwent free cancer screening. 170 were diagnosed with early-stage cancer, the Armenian healthcare ministry said.
The treatment of the patients is carried out for free by the Fanarjyan National Center of Oncology. According to experts, early diagnosis ensures over 90% full recovery.
The mobile screening device will continue operating in Syunik and women aged 50-69 can apply for the free test.
