Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said at a meeting with Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausea in Davos that Armenia is manipulating the events of the Lachin road to mislead the international community and claims based on false data that the road is closed. Aliyev noted that the road is open for the passage of civilian population and civilian cargo, and the free movement of humanitarian cargo is ensured through the ICRC. “Armenia should stop the illegal exploitation of natural resources in the area of the temporary deployment of peacekeepers and remove the criminal elements from the territory of Azerbaijan,” said Aliyev.
The President of Azerbaijan noted that the Armenian side has been using the Lachin road for more than two years to transport mines, ammunition, and personnel.
