Azerbaijani 1news.az news agency conducted an interview with professor Nabil Ayad, director of the Diplomatic Academy at the University of Westminster in London.
Talking about the possible solution to the problem, Ayad noted:
“First of all peaceful negotiations must continue and the sides must accept the requirements of OSCE Minsk group and keep the status-quo.”
During the interview the journalist recalled that many news agencies inform that the negotiation process has been stalled and asked him to comment on it.
“First of all I should stress that conflict resolution process takes place according to certain cycles so such things are quite natural. On the other hand, in order to resolve any conflict, first of all, the political will of both parties must be involved. We shouldn’t forget that the conflict affected both sides, Armenia and Azerbaijan.”
“Of course, OSCE Minsk group does everything possible in order to give a peaceful solution to the problem but I think that UN’s active involvement in Nagorno-Karabakh conflict will help the resolution ”
