Today the chief coach of Armenian National Team had convened a press conference in “Hrazdan” stadium, where he spoke of Armenia-Italy match preparations of the qualification tour of World Cup as well as the opponent’s opportunities.
Minasyan noted that this is the first time that Armenia plays with Italy, which is a very strong rival. Our team has properly prepared for the match; everybody is fit and ready. To the question what counter-play is prepared by the chief coach of Italy, Minasyan answered that during Euro-2012 Italy showed good football, and their trainer Cesare Prandelli is one of the best in the world. By Minasyan’s account nowadays’ Italy is very dangerous and the coach staff has paid much attention to some episodes from previous matches. Though some mention that Italy plays more in defense, it proved to be flexible during Euro-2012. “We will do our best with the Italians. It is impossible to win them only by a good game. We need luck as well.”- mentioned the coach.
Referring to our team, Minasyan stressed that there are footballers from youth team, but only Karen Muradyan is invited. Speaking on the latter, Minasyan noted that he has quite good perspectives. “His game somehow resembles the one of Karlen Mkrtchyan, he has good qualities and perspectives and much depends on his work”. Minasyan noted that surprises are not anticipated in the chief staff of the team, the captain will be Roman Berezovski.
The journalists inquired whether it wouldn’t be more convenient that the captain were a person knowing several languages, like Henrikh Mkhitaryan. To this observation Vardan Minasyan replied that Roman deserves this right.
According to Minasyan we must be cautious with Buffon and Pirlo. To the question of an Italian journalist whether the whole concentration will be directed towards Pirlo, Minasyan answered that he will be given much attention as all the attacks are organized by him.
