A year ago, in August 26 in Government Reception House the 7th round of the dialog between the delegations of authorities and the ANC was to take place. However, the ANC delegation didn’t come come to that meeting.
David Harutyunyan, the head of the delegation of authorities, in the interview with Aravot.am on analyzing the failure of the dialogue noted: “If the dialogue didn’t faile, we would have seen one year of mutual work, during which joint working methods and forms would have been developed. In this regard, I consider that we just lost a year because the ANC is now represented in the Parliament.”
In the interlocutor’s opinion, the dialogue was an attempt to create a new political platform and there is no other hidden idea behind that.
To the question, why the dialogue did not reach its logical end, Harutyunyan answered. “I think that’s the ANC team made a really serious mistake and tried to politicize the situation. It seems to me that they were not sure of the steps they made and stepped back from our initial agreement, “said David Harutyunyan.
To the next question of Aravot.am, after the notorious failure is there an opportunity for cooperation between the government and the ANC, the interlocutor said, “There is no other option. We should strive to work efficiently. If it fails, of course, it will be disappointing. Finally, one day, the country would come to that, that the government and opposition would work together effectively.
We hope that we will not miss this chance again.”
David Harutyunyan tries to understand what happened a year ago with a comprehension. “We are all people, it will have some impact, but if we are guided by national interest, I think we should stand up to that challenge.”
