The head of the “United Armenians” party Ruben Avagyan stated yesterday that the elections on May showed the interconnectedness between the incumbent government and the oligarchic clan. He added that 50% of the population in Armenia believes neither the government nor the opposition or alternative powers the other half is under the leverages of a certain political power and can sell their voice without understanding how much it contributes to the oligarchs.
Coming out of these circumstances, Avagyan stated their political party finds it inconvenient to propose a candidate. The head of the party distinguished 3 types of political powers in Armenia: pro-governmental, opposition and a third power which, as Avagyan states has the state interest as its base. When asked whether Tsarukyan could be a third power, Avagyan first mentioned that today when they say PAP they mean Kocharyan and vice versa. But that Tsarukyan cannot be a third political power, it is so obvious.
