The preliminary client of Russian Sukhoi Superjet-100 (SSJ-100) planes, Armavia air company, seems is finally disappointed from its choice and has decided not to use the ordered airplane, writes the Russian PBK daily newspaper.
Earlier the company has announced about resigning from the second ordered Superjet and now seeks an opportunity for resigning from the first one as well which was bought in 2011. The two SSJ-100 airplanes of Armavia are being painted in Jukovo, some aviation sources have told PBK daily and the information was confirmed by the representative of Civil planes of Sukho CPS, Andrei Muravyov. “At this moment two airplanes of Armavia are in the experiment region of CPS. There is still no official document about resigning from the responsibility toward CPS. We are trying to bring in order the relations with Armavia”, he said to the newspaper adding the information about the relations between companies is confidential.
According to PBK daily, Armavia has debts for the first airplane and it does not want to pay. According to the source the plane is mortgaged in one of the Armenian banks.
“The plane is a good one, but it is not worked out yet. If Airbus and Boing fly 330-350 hours per month, SSJ flies 150 hours. Besides, there can be no talk about reconstruction, as the plane is only one year old and is still in guarantee.” – the source of Armavia told to PBK daily, and according to his words the problem arose because of 4-day delay of the reconstruction instead of two.
“Armavia is a big company and can’t do experiments.”- said the source.
PBK daily has not managed to get any comments from Armavia yet.
