On November 6, in the library of Humanitarian studies of the Royal Library of Copenhagen the opening of the “The Armenian Genocide and the Scandinavian response” exhibition took place which was organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia In Denmark in cooperation with the Institute of the Armenian Genocide.
As the MFA media office reports, number of high officials, foreign delegations, clergymen, students and representatives of the Armenian diaspora were present.
The head of the library of Humanitarian studies Hans Christian Michelsen delivered a speech and Hayk Demoyan, the head of the museum-institute on the Armenian Genocide, presented his speech on “the Scandinavian direction of the Armenian Genocide European reminiscences”. The ambassador of Armenia to Denmark Hrachya Aghadjanyan stated that a number of Scandinavian citizens have assisted the Armenians surviving the Genocide and have made a great humanitarian input on the latters’ survival. He concluded that they were there not to grief the death but to encourage the life. In the end, the ambassador expressed his gratitude to all the present and Komitas music summarized the day.
