Today during the discussion of the state budget in the NA joint commission session there was a reflection on Prime Minister’s labeling 2013 budget a “social” one.
To the deputy minister of Finance of the RA Pavel Safaryan’s observation, that it is not correct for a financier to label the state budget “social”. PAP member Michael Melqumyan noticed it was Prime Minister who initially named the budget as such.
Hrant Bagratyan argued the righteousness of calling the state budget as “social” bringing as an example the US case, where 98% of the state budget is aimed at the social development however they do not call the budget “social”. When Melqumyan notices that the discussion was a successful one, the president of the finance and budget commission Gagik Minasyan counter-argued the discussions were always good, only Melqumyan was absent from time to time.
