President of Political Science Association of Armenia, Doctor of Political Sciences Hayk Kotanjian published the following application of the association.
“Political Science Association of Armenia” is holding the same view as the Chairman of the Public Council of Armenia, the former Prime Minister, honorable Mr. Vazgen Manukyan, qualifying the sale of the building of the RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs as a political mistake.
The study of the Association based on historical experience and present reality has belief that for people living in the Diaspora and in Armenian the symbols of independent state both in political, spiritual and cultural aspects are identified with the Armenian statehood.
The state of the Republic Square, symbolizing National Center of the State according to the viewpoint of citizens of Armenia, Diaspora, foreign states and international organizations is primarily associated with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia and the Government.
Taking into account the above, the Association asks “Tango” company owner, patriot and philanthropist, Mr. E. Ernekian, to review the situation and not to buy the building of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and not to turn it into a hotel.In addition, they addressed Government of the Republic of Armenia, represented by the Prime Minister T. Sargsyan, denounced the decision to sell the building of Foreign Ministry.
