The Deputy Minister of Industry and Energy Natig Abbasov said that as a result of corruption of Shah Deniz gas field, Azerbaijan not only has a need of gas, but it exports gas to several countries.
“Since 2007, it has refused import and started to meet from own reserves. Next target is Europe. We try to export Azeri gas to Europe. Within these works, Azerbaijan and Turkey signed contract on construction gas Trans Anatolia gas pipeline. Azerbaijani gas will be delivered to Turkish-European border through this pipeline. Next transportation directions are considered” he said.
He added that Azerbaijan could take part in the supplying of European energy security to transport Turkmen gas through Azerbaijan.
