Richard Kirakosyan, political scientist and the director of Regional Studies Center, today had an interview with the journalists, concerning the “Safarov issue”
Kirakosyan announced that the Hungarian Government’s move is a test for our nation and for our government.
“Now we can realize which country is with us, during this important problem. If OSCE Minsk Group doesn’t take any appropriate actions towards the issue, then we must review our policy on EU and NATO cooperation. As we know the General Secretor of NATO will soon visit Armenia, and our president, Serzh Sargsyan, must stress during their conversation the need to give appropriate solution to the issue, since the occasion, held in Budapest, Hungary 2004, was within the military meeting, organized by NATO, so they must take responsibility since they couldn’t support our officer’s security” said Kirakosyan.
As reported, Kirakosyan has also announced, that the best step for Armenia is to withdraw from the Nagorno Karabakh negations in the framework of OSCE Minsk group.
He also thinks that Armenia now has to recognize the independence of NKR and make other countries do the same.
