On Jan 4, 2011 two Power Stations opened in Nagorno-Karabakh .
The president of Nagorno-Karabakh Bako Sahakyan attended the opening ceremony of a power transformer plant near the town of Shushi and also the opening of the 2.4 megawatt Syunik-1 hydro power plant in Aghavna-Melikashen area in Lachin.The republic continues the construction of Syunik-2 hydroelectric power plant as well as of mini HPPs: the first is Trghe-1 station, recently constructed near the village of Aterk, Caucasian Knot reports.
“The projects are being implemented as part of the “Use of the water resources of the NKR” project, which was proposed both by the presidents of Armenia and Karabakh in 2010, and is supported by the Armenian Diaspora”.
