Georgian Chief Prosecutor Archil Kbilashvili said at a press conference today that Georgian former Justice Minister Zurab Adeishvili will be formally charged on December 26 in connection with the tortures in prison No 8 in Tbilisi.
Kbilashvili said that the investigation in connection with tortures in prisons is being intensively conducted and prosecutors examine all the details.
According to the chief prosecutor, the charges against Akhalaia are known, the investigation is underway and it is now inappropriate to disclose the issue.
Kbilashvili also highlighted that the investigation was carried out in connection with the scandalous photos of tortures in prisons.
“The examination was conducted to identify the photographed individuals. No montage was revealed.” said Kbilashvili.
Note that Adeishvili is not in the country now and once failed to appear for questioning.
