This Saturday the leader of Rule of Law Party Arthur Baghdasaryan again announced about their support to the President Serzh Sargsyan in the presidential elections. This announcement was expected, as well as it proved the actuality of Rule of Law Party not having a separate political power and hence it can be considered as RPA’s “subsidiary company.”
However, in the near future, the Rule of Law Party will not draw to its end, as the upcoming elections are going to have the same scenario as it was in 2008. Nevertheless, the parties that are part of the ANC may shatter together with ANC.
According to the expert of Armenian Center for Strategic and International Studies Edgar Vardanyan, the word “party” does not denote the exact meaning in Armenia.
“If we open the simplest book about the politics and find the meaning of the word “party” we will see that there isn’t any connection between that and the speeches of our parties. In Armenia, there is a big clan that occupies the dominant positions.” he said.
Talking about the Rule of Law Party, the expert mentions: “Now, if the party supports the big clan, it will also become one of the fellows of it. And naturally, in that case, this clan will decide the political fate of a person or groups of people.”
