Georgia will surely take part in 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi, Georgian Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili informed the media on Monday in Tbilisi.
“The wars have stopped and countries reconciled during the Olympics. If there were no Olympic games, we would have to invent them. If we want to have normal relations with Russia, and then, of course, we should participate in the games. We cannot give up,” he said.
Ivanishvili mentioned that Georgia’s participation in the Olympic Games is aimed at “streamlining” relations with Russia.
Recall that Former Georgian authorities did not rule out that the Georgian representatives may boycott the Sochi Olympics.
