On December 14, Armenia’s Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian met with U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State in the Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights and Labor Thomas Melia.
Welcoming the guest, the RA Minister highly appreciated the growth of Armenian-American relations during the last few years and expressed satisfaction with the support of the United States for democratic reforms in Armenia.
Expressing gratitude for the reception, U.S. Assistant Secretary of State said that the United States will continue to support the development of democracy in Armenia. Melia and Nalbandian referred to the results of the last week’s OSCE Ministerial Council in Dublin, and cooperation within the framework of international structures.
MFA press office reports that the interlocutors exchanged views on the reforms, the fight against corruption, efforts for human rights protection, and also touched upon presidential elections.
Edward Nalbandian briefed the guest on the latest developments in the Karabakh peace process.
