On November 29 in the National Assembly took place the 21st session of the Inter-Parliamentary Committee of the National Assembly and the RF Federal Assembly co-hosted by Nikolai Ryzhkov and Hermine Naghdalyan. This was reported by the NA Public and Media Relations Department.
In his welcoming speech, the head of the National Assembly Hovik Abrahamyan highly appreciated the deep roots of the Armenian-Russian relations and the strategic partnership of two countries based on centuries-old traditions and friendship.
President of the National Assembly noted that the two countries’ cooperation reached a qualitatively new level in the political, trade-economic, inter-parliamentary, military-technical, inter-regional and cultural-humanitarian spheres. The NA President expressed hope that the discussion for the two countries’ cooperation in the field of youth policy will be included in the agenda and in the next two years a united program will be very created in the Inter-Parliamentary Committee.
Co-Chair of the Inter-Parliamentary Committee Hermine Naghdalyan also highly appreciated the work done by the committee and expressed hope that later the two countries will not spare their efforts to present initiatives in accordance with the interests of the people and find effective solutions for the problems.
Nikolai Ryzhkov, co-chairman of the Inter-parliamentary Committee, stressed the importance of its mission in strengthening the friendship between the two peoples. He emphasized the importance of the development of regional cooperation, Eurasian integration, active policy aimed at solving the problems of young people, which implies activation of bilateral relations in various formats of social life, politics, science and culture spheres.
The representative of the Russian delegation Victor Krivopuskov referring to the implementation of joint projects aimed at solving the problems of young people highlighted the importance of trust between the two countries.
It was decided that the 22th session of the Inter-Parliamentary Committee will be held in Moscow in May, and one of the sessions held in Novgorod.
