From political point of view reporter of “First News and Analyses” Hovhan Mandakuni finds that today’s existing situation is simply absurd.
“State and society are in a marsh, with serious internal and external challenges, economic crisis, growing poverty and migration, and potential presidential candidates instead of hurrying to present their programs and outcomes to the public, they are playing hide-and-seek with each other.”
According to the reporter, normal political force would feel uncomfortable with any of the responses of the ANC and PAP towards their candidates. That is why these forces cannot be considered normal, but, unfortunately, they are the ones focus, around which are developing the election events.
“Gagik Tsarukyan and Levon Ter-Petrosyan are waiting. No one except for journalists and their supporters probably care about their expectation, but at the same time they have concentrated all the resources in their waiting. This is an absurd situation, which may have been really funny, but it turns into a tragedy, at the background of the current internal and external situation.”
Hovhan Mandakuni notes that it may happen that they either don’t know what they are waiting for, or they are looking forward to anything, and because they have nothing to say and to do, decided to extend the time and speak at least a little later.
“The current period is something like “bliss” for Tsarukyan and Ter-Petrosyan, as after the publication of decisions increases the likelihood of explosion of the balloon: they will lose mysteriousness, an ordinary political life will start, and here both Tsarukyan and Ter-Petrosyan are actually consumed resources.”
Note that Tsarukyan has never had political resources, but Ter-Petrosyan had more or less. But what he has is much less for implementation of an effective model against the system. “Once for Ter-Petrosyan that model was a source for a dialogue with Serzh Sarkisian, and now with Gagik Tsarukyan. Arthur Baghdasaryan is perhaps in the queue, and Robert Kocharian is in the line.”
