The only important thing for OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs that the Nagorno-Karabakh talks continue.
Referring to the announcement of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs Robert Bradtke (USA), Igor Popov (Russia), Jacques For (France) and Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office Andrzej Kasprzyk about the peaceful settlement of the Karabakh conflict, Karabakh president’s spokesman David Babayan expressed such a viewpoint in the conversation with “First News and Analyses”.
“Such a statement can only fit into the logic, which the mediator states adopted. That means, for them, the most important thing is to continue the process. And taking into account that making a hero out of the murderer was a terrible blow to the negotiations, the process was in a deadlock. Naturally, the co-chairs should do everything to maintain at least the formal negotiation process. Therefore, this announcement is made only for this purpose . ”
He also noted that it will take quite a long time to come to any agreement on Nagorno-Karabakh and added that even if the meeting between Armenia’s Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian and Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Mammadyarov take place they won’t manage to decide anything.
