In his political analysis Aram Amatuni discusses the current collapsed state of the political life in Armenia and believes this is a most convenient opportunity for the incumbent president to be reelected.
Amatuni states the members of the Republican party that speak out of the steadfastness of Serzh Sargsyan and that he has no real opponents, do this not because they support the political ideology the leader has, but because of their own personal interests. Next time, along with a different leader, the same adulation and flattery will be addressed to a different person and not an ideology. Amatuni says Galust Sahakyan, Eduard Sharmazanov, Mkrtich Minasyan and others have mutual interests and the fear to lose their current state makes them overpass each other in their rhetoric about Serzh Sargyan’s being perfect.
The political expert mentions that today a number of Republican party members are in good terms with the PAP representatives so as to be on the safe side, like Hovik Abrahamyan and the only reason they surpass each other on flattery of Serzh Sargsyan is their fear.
Amatuni reminds the Republican party members’ 8-years-old flattery towards Robert Kocharyan and concludes it is not difficult to foresee a similar destiny for Sargsyan in the future whenever the latter is out of the presidential post.
