“The dominant point of view in the party is that “Prosperous Armenia” Party should nominate its own candidate at the election, and the candidate must be Tsarukyan. At this moment I do not want to discuss any version circulating over presidential elections,” said party secretary Naira Zohrabyan, answering the question of reporters which one of the three options put forward by the sociologist Aharon Adibekyan is more likely.
Note that the sociologist offered 3 versions of PAP at the presidential election: returning to the coalition, nominating its own candidate and supporting another candidate.
Referring to regional meetings, Mrs. Zohrabyan reminded that they present political situation, discuss issues related to the presidential elections and the format of the party’s participation. “Before the regional meetings, regional and local structures were instructed to clarify the position of the population on the regional meetings and try to get a lead on how the community defines its public hearing, the way the PAP should take part in presidential elections. The discussions are still ongoing, but the dominant point of view was that the party should participate with its own candidate in the election and the candidate must be party’s leader Tsarukyan.”
Mrs. Zohrabyan also added that they will summarize the results of the meetings at the party’s political council.
