“EurAsEC may prove its vitality”. The director of the Union of Political Scientists of Armenia Hmayak Hovhannisyan said in the interview with “1in.am News and Analysis” touching upon Serj Sargsyan’s visit to Moscow on August 8, where, according to talks, Armenia’s membership to EurAsEC will be clarified.
According to the scientist, we should leave the idea of the federation for the cooperation cannot be opposed by another vector.
“We must leave the global way of thinking as well as it is already an old approach typical of 20th century. In 21th century global way of thinking must be exchanged by the conversation between civilizations. We are not Asians , we are Eurasians and we, Armenians, are bearers of Christian traditional value system, we belong to both Europe and Asia being a bridge between them and we can take up this role as an mediator between European and Asian people”, said Hmayak Hovhannisyan meaning that Armenia can realize cooperation by two vectors – EurAsEC and EU”.
According to his words there is no need to make a tragedy from the project of Eurasian Union. It is a project that can prove its vitality when the approach of two-vector cooperation is accepted as the leading one.
