China is an important economic partner of Armenia. Chinese ambassador Tyan Chanchun said this today, on October 12, at a conference of “mutually beneficial cooperation between Armenia and China”. The conference was organized by the “Association of Armenian-Chinese center.”
Chinese diplomat recalled that the basis for cooperation between the two nations came from ancient times, when the Silk Road connected the two cultures. He noted the contribution of Armenian soldiers of the Soviet army to the liberation of China.
“On April 6, 1992, the two countries established diplomatic relations, which opened a new era of cooperation,” said the ambassador, noting that China considers Armenia as an important partner in the South Caucasus.
It should be noted that in 2011, bilateral trade amounted 420 million dollar. This year, it could reach 500 million dollars. More than 40 agreements and memorandums have been signed between Armenia and China. China presented new buses to Armenia.
