RA Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Territorial Administration Armen Gevorgyan met with World Bank (WB) delegation led by Armenian office Director Jean-Michel Hapi. The head of MTA and the State Water Committee Andranik Andreasyan and manager of “Water Sector Reform and Development Project Implementation Unit” Adibek Ghazaryan were also present at the meeting.
MTA public relations department reported that the two sides discussed the process of programs on irrigation system. Both sides expressed gratification for the support of the World Bank in process of “Irrigation Rehabilitation Emergency Project”. Deputy PM found commendable that the World Bank continues to focus on programs aimed at improving the water supply system in Armenia.
“The issue of having the most efficient irrigation system, which will provide irrigation water to all households in rural demand is still in our agenda,” said Deputy Prime Minister.
The guests discussed with Deputy Prime Minister new directions for implementation of the programs, taking into account the government’s priorities. They also touched upon basin management plans, water resources strategy for the further development of joint projects.
