In 2012 compared to June 2005 the price of bread increased for 44 percent. These are data of the research made by “Oxfam” Armenian branch on the “prices and vulnerability in Armenia”.
According to it, in 2010 the average price of grain products increased by 4.7, in 2011- by 11%. The authors of the report are confident that , taking into account that bread covers the most important place in the overall products structure among the poor, any reduction in consumption, without filling with other products, will result malnutrition of poor people.
Today Expert of Economic Development and International Studies’ Center Yelena Manukyan said at the roundtable with journalists and representatives of the government that” in addition to the other limitations of every form is malnutrition.”
As a major factor to increase the price of grain products is considered to use temporary restrictions for RF and Ukraine’s grain export and it is proposed to increase wheat production volume.
