Pre-election campaign in Georgia is getting tougher between two political parties: Saakashvili’s “National Movement” and Bidzina Ivanishvili’s “Georgian Dream”.
Arnold Stepanyan, head of Javakheti-Armenian Assembly, commented on the issue today in his interview to “1in.am News and Analysis”. Stepanyan noted the presence of several serious violations in the process. “Two or three violations committed by authorities against the opposition occur every week. “Georgian Dream” representatives in Javakheti were discarded the chance to open up a party office in one place; a man who opened up one was arrested in another, while in the third place internet connection was disabled”; said Stepanyan adding that authorities hindered the campaign creating technical obstacles.
Stepanyan notes that many of Javakheti-Armenians support Ivanishvilli’s “Georgian Dream”.
