“First Armenian News and Analysis” had an interview with an expert of Armenian center for strategic and national studies, psychologist Armine Ghazaryan.
To the question whether Kocharyan’s statement condemning the removal of Vartan Oskanian’s immunity corresponds to the talks that Kocharyan supports PAP, the psychologist answered that there are always misinformation spread in the public to manipulate it or to provide topics for analysts. “In Kocharyan’s statement there is a message that proves your conjecture.”
Why Gagik Tsarukyan was put into the second place? “His absence and silence speak of much more. The agreements are made on the level of highest ranks. But there is a show, the active social-political layer realizes that they must keep Oskanian to be sacrificed. But the most shocking was the discovery that Tsarukyan is a passive party.”
To the inquiry of the “First Armenian News and Analysis” whether the society is ready to welcome back the second president, Ms. Ghazaryan answered, “The society is depressed first of all by the opposition’s division. Thus, people are not even certain in the “player” like Kocharyan. The latter is sure to have loyal electorate. People are just ready for “present” authority but not for quakes, because the quakes cause awe that they will lose everything. This is the famous conspiracy that controls over the society. In existing political situation the vector can point at the second president, but the approaches show that he is not an expected candidate.”
Does the political figure have the right to have a dark past, like crimes, rape, murder, in his biography and how they affect his further actions? “We live a life when oligarchs prevail and their biography is full of such kind of “secrets. Now they are trying to clean it with their power. The awful fact is that people tolerate it and don’t get surprised when learning about the “dark spots” in the life of an oligarch. But as we see people have other demands from young politicians and are less tolerant to their slips.
“First Armenian News and Analysis” inquired why people tolerate them and why some of them are even considered as benefactors. “People are not ready to exercise tolerance towards their leaders, but civic society is ready. The key factor that guides people is awe, people get afraid of questioning any injustice, they are afraid of power, authority. This is a result of a whole epoch. The authorities have taken this into consideration, a psychological mechanism works here, which presses and enslaves people suppressing their aspiration to revolt.”- concluded the expert.
