From January 10, 2013, Armenia will unilaterally pass to visa-free regime with EU member countries: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Germany, Dania, Estonia, Italy, Ireland, Spain, Latvia, Poland, Lithia, Luxemburg, Cyprus, Greece, Hungary, Malta, Great Britain and Northern Ireland, The Netherlands, Sweden , Czech Republic, Portugal, Rumania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Finland, France and EU Schengen Acquis and with countries which are not EU members: Iceland, Norway, Switzerland and Liechtenstein. The decision on this is scheduled to be accepted during the next NA session on 4th of October.
According to RA Foreign Ministry the passing to visa-free regime with the above mentioned countries doesn’t have any migration risks for Armenia. This new regime will foster tourism developments making visit to Armenia easier which in its turn will create the needed conditions for international relations.
This will also help to the establishment of political and economic environment with EU countries, which in its turn will foster the widening of business ties between the countries.
