The Hurriyet Daily News, an influential Turkish newspaper, has forgotten to mention the capital of Azerbaijan in the Weather Forecast column.
Only Tbilisi and Yerevan were mentioned among the South Caucasus capital cities. This occasion was shocking for Azerbaijan, since there is a huge cooperation between Baku and Ankara.
After this occasion Azerbaijani media wrote:
“Turkish officials have repeatedly called the Turkish-Azerbaijani ties friendly, strategic and have great prospects. Since the very start of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan, Ankara has been supporting Baku in the settlement issue. Armenia does not have diplomatic ties with Turkey beginning from 1993, again for the reason of support of Azerbaijani position in the Nagorno-Karabakh issue. What has been the reason of such a mistake of the editors of the Turkish newspaper?”
