“I have to express my concerns about the deterioration of the humanitarian situation and the developments in Syria, which directly affects the country’s large Armenian community.” said Armenia’s Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian at the 67th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
“This community is mainly formed in the 20th century by the survivors of the Armenian Genocide, implemented by Ottoman Empire. Today, they, as much as citizens of Syria, lead a bitter fight for life. Armenia continues to accept refugees from Syria, who are very concerned about the violence in the country. It is impossible to achieve a lasting resolution without termination of hostilities by all parties and without any inclusive political dialogue, which would take into account the interests of all Syrian-Armenians, “said Nalbandian.
