Member of ARF (Armenian Revolutionary Federation) Giro Manyan during his interview with journalists noted that Hungary should recognize Nagorno-Karabakh Republic if she really regrets for Safarov’s extradition and is concerned about international pressures.
“The threat that led them to increase the tension over Artsakh [Nagorno-Karabakh] has to be reduced by diplomatic efforts. That means, first of all, they have to realize Nagorno-Karabakh’s right of self-determination and the fact of exercising that right,” Kiro Manoyan explained.
As for a new meeting between the Armenian and Azerbaijani presidents, the politician said he does not foresee such a scenario.
“First of all necessary foreign ministers need to be involved in the affair before it comes to the presidents,” he said.
Manoyan didn’t exclude the possibility of changing the format of the Nagorno-Karabakh negotiation process, adding that it would be a mistake to eliminate the processes on peace establishment and embark on new efforts.
“The Minsk Group co-chairs, who have been dealing with the issue for 20 years, have come to realize that a solution is possible only in one case – Artsakh cannot be a part of Azerbaijan,” he added.
