Musa Mikaelyan, an analyst at “First News and Analyses” in his recent article talks about the possibility for Gagik Tsarukyan, an Armenian oligarch and a politician, the head of the Prosperous Armenia party, to run his candidacy at presidential elections.
“Even though PAP keeps on avoiding expressing a direct decision about the upcoming elections, it seems that Tsarukyan has already started his pre – election campaign. He has already promised a lot of people that he will support them in agricultural field. All these are very interesting and are not done for just nothing. All this means that Tsarukyan has some plans connected with the upcoming presidential elections
We should recall that yesterday Aharon Adibekyan announced that the single and joint candidate of the opposition will be Gagik Tsarutkyan, even though all the PAP members are still saying that they have not made the final decision.
There is another interesting issue in this occasion. It doesn’t matter how PAP will act in the elections, the thing is that this is just a written script either from Robert Kocharyan (Second President of Armenia) or Serzh Sargsyan (Current President).
Tsarukyan himself is not that politician, or, it will be better to say, neither Sargsyan nor Kocharyan will let Tsarukyan act freely and do whatever he wants. We must figure out what Tsarukyan thinks.
During the elections the answer will certainly come on the surface, so we just need to wait a little bit.”
