Today in Marriott Hotel the seminar on the subject of “Develop agricultural competitiveness of Armenia through the experience of the EU” began. With the support of the European Union TAIEX RA Ministry of Agriculture organized a seminar, which will be attended by professionals and experts in the field of agriculture from the EU member states- Finland, Romania, and Poland.
Welcoming the participants and organizers of the seminar, in his opening speech, the Minister of Agriculture Sergo Karapetyan made a brief presentation on agriculture and potential indicators of Armenia, highlighting the need for integration in the European Union.
“In the process of solving the problems it is extremely important to study European experience and assess practices and investment opportunities, which certainly will lead to the gradual solution of problems and raise of the agricultural sector’s competitiveness. Armenia’s cooperation with the European Union has always been one of the international integration directions and it serves for bilateral trade relations and economic development.”
During the two-day seminar participants discussed rural development policy and strategy development essential components, administrative structures and procedures in order to improve rural development programs, implementation and management, as well as the development of the agrarian system and other important issues and proposals.
