Today the Pope Benedict the 16th visits Lebanon. He will also visit Zmarr church of Armenian Catholics in Lebanon. The latter is in the preparations for welcoming the Pope. The coordinator of information center of Armenian patriarchy Vardan Gazanjyan represented the agenda, according to which the Pope will visit Zmarr church on Sunday at 13:00, where he will anoint the memorial of Hakob Meghapart dedicated to the 500th anniversary of printing. The aim of the visit is the urge of peace to Lebanon and to the nations of Middle East.
Vardan Gazanjyan reported that this evening Benedict 16th will sign the apostolic urge prepared in Vatican in 2010 during the session devoted to the Christians of Middle East. He also stressed that Pope’s visit to Zmarr has a great value.
His Holiness the Patriarch Aram A. will not meet Benedict 16th as he has left for Sarajevo to take part in inter-religional conference, where he will give a speech.
