Azerbaijani media, citing the announcement made by Ministry of Energy of Georgia, reports that SOCAR Energy Georgia, Azerbaijani SOCAR company’s branch in Georgia, from 2009 has linked up 138,470 subscribers.
AS reported, SOCAR Energy Georgia continues to work throughout Georgia and it is planned to increase the number of subscribers to 208,000.
The source reports that in particular, the opening of a new gas pipeline, laid in the beginning of the process of gasification of Kharagauli, was held. The ceremony was attended by the President of Georgia, Mikhail Saakashvili, Energy Minister Vakhtang Balavadze and representatives of SOCAR Energy Georgia.
At the first stage, a gas pipeline with length of 3.9 kilometers in Kharagauli was laid, will enable 244 families to be provided with gas, and at the second stage It is scheduled to lay another 12 kilometers, which will enable the provision of another 706 subscribers with gas.
Note, on December 26, SOCAR and the Georgian Government signed an agreement to operate 30 gas supply grids and gas distribution networks in the Kakheti, Mtskheta-Mtianeti, Shida and Kvemo Kartli, Ajaria, Guria, Imereti, Samegrelo regions of Georgia. These networks are operated by 24 companies.
