Georgia Online news agency reports that from July 31 to August 12 throughout Georgia on the basis of selective interviews a total of 2038 people were questioned and the following result was gained:
According to opinion poll by the National Democratic Institute (NDI), 62% of citizens support Georgian government’s policy regarding the country’s accession to NATO, with 9% against. 25% of respondents said they did not know the answer to this question, and 4% – refused to answer.
As for Georgia’s accession to the EU, 68% of respondents supported the Government’s commitment to the European integration of the country, 5% – don’t, 24% – do not know the answer, and 3% – refused to answer.
As part of the same survey, 48 percent of Georgians believe that Russia poses the biggest real threat to Georgia. According to 30 percent, Russia is a real threat, but the threat is exaggerated.
Only 9% of Georgians do not consider Russia as a threat at all.

The poll was commissioned by NDI Georgia and was conducted by the Caucasus Research Resource Center (CRRC), with funding from the Swedish International Development Cooperation (Sida).
