Turkish media reports that according to Egemen Bagis, Turkish Minister for EU Affairs, France must be active in settling the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
Bagis stressed that France can restore talks between Azerbaijan and Armenia and added that in this case; it can have an impact on the Armenian-Turkish relations.
Egemen Bagis noted that situation threatens stability in the region since, so called, 20% of Azerbaijani lands are “occupied by Armenians”.
Note, Azerbaijan and Armenia signed a ceasefire agreement in 1994. The co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group – Russia, France and the U.S. – are currently holding peace negotiations.
